Røldal Ski Center is known as Europe’s powder paradise. Almost the entire ski center is located above the tree line, and from one of Norway’s highest base areas, seven lifts bring you all the way up to 1300 asl. Røldal Ski Center’s location means that you are not tied to narrow trails in the forest, but can frolic exactly where you want in the mountains! The number of slopes varies from year to year, but usually, the ski center will offer about 12 slopes, with a total length of about 15 km.
The season usually starts at the turn of the month November / December and lasts until the beginning of May. The average snowfall in Røldal ski center is about 1100 cm per season, which guarantees plenty of powder snow for those who want to move outside the slopes. The ski center has two cabins, a ski rental, and a workshop for skis and snowboards.
In the high season, there are also prepared cross-country trails towards Røldalssåto, 1422 asl, about 10 km each way, and to Seljestad-gorge.
